End Mill Terminology

   





Shank Types:
Plain Shank Most common used in standard collets
Weldon Shank:
The shank has 1 or 2 flats for set screws for use in end mill holders
End Cut Types:
Centering Cut can be used to plunge, chop, ramp in to cuts and drill
Non Centering cannot plunge cut, recommended for side milling only
