Shim Punch

Shim Punch

Shim Punch

I thought this may be a handy tool for the home shop machinist. It is used for punching holes in shims. I made it from S7 tool steel and heat treated it to 58/60 Rc. I have holes from 1/8-1/2 in 1/16 increments. 1/2-1" in 1/8"increments 1-1/4-2" in 1/4 increments. I made the punches out of used ball lock die punches.
